The motorised mount sits between your tripod legs and head to provide stop-start panning motion for timelapses and easy panoramas. Can also be mounted vertically using an arca swiss plate/manfrotto plate to produce tilt motion. Polar alignment using the included laser allows for star tracking so you can take much longer exposures at lower ISO settings without star trailing and obtain more detail in fainter objects like the Milky Way.

The unit rotates your camera after every shot using a hot-shoe mounted sound detector which is triggered by the sound of the shutter closing. For this reason, the stop-start timelapse functionality is not compatible with Fujifilm, Panasonic, Olympus, Phaseone or Leica cameras (but all cameras work for star tracking). Your camera must also have a built in timelapse mode or an additional intervalometer is required.

The user can select 4 different rotation options: 0.05°, 0.075°, 0.1°and 0.125° per picture. There are also two different panorama modes to allow easy panoramas without having to manually move the camera: 200mm = 2° per photo and 35mm = 9° per photo.

Using the included laser and laser mount the device can also be polar aligned, allowing you to track the stars and take much longer exposures without star trailing (see video at bottom of the page). This is particularly useful when using lenses with longer focal lengths that are restricted to short shutter speeds to achieve no star trailing. It also allows you to unveil greater detail in fainter objects such as the Milky Way and will allow you to shoot at a lower ISO setting than normal. For tracking, the device is recommended for wide angle lenses up to about 135mm.
